The spectator’s eye is drawn into this watercolour via the bend in the river. The mature trees are rich in colour and painted with fluidity. There appears to be a manor house on the edge of the village. The church stands tall with the tower silhouetted against the sky. It also has been cleverly depicted in the reflections in the water along with the large trees. The stormy sky adds drama to this very accomplished composition.
