This etching of a street scene in Pott Shrigley is well executed with regards to perspective. The cottages are drawn and start the journey of the spectator’s eye being drawn down the road, passing the shepherd and sheep until you reach the church. The architecture and trees are well depicted. The shepherd and sheep and the chickens in the foreground add to the movement of the picture. The artist did not lose any of the spontaneity of the original drawing when transferred onto the etching plate.
